The New HSK Level 2
HSK (汉语水平考试 Hàn yǔ Shuǐ píng Kǎo shì) is the official standardized test for Mandarin. In July 2021, HSK is getting a massive overhaul into the New HSK.
New HSK Level 2 students should be able to do tasks like smoothly order food in Chinese restaurants while having nice conversations with Chinese friends over the meal; fill in a personal information form.
Topics included: Basic social life, family life, school life, shopping, dining, personal feelings, and more.
Understand phrases in a short conversation (less than 150 words). Sentences will be spoken clearly and slowly (less than 140 characters per minute).
Pronounce 468 pinyin with correct tones. Students must be able to hold short conversations and make appropriate small talks in different social situations.
Recognize 600 Chinese characters and 1272 vocabularies. Students must know 129 grammar points and able to read short paragraphs (less than 200 characters).
Handwrite 200 basic characters using correct stroke orders. Students must also be able to copy more complex characters at a speed of 15 characters per minute.
